Our Business Process
Rationalization (BPRaz)
services can help you identify the
opportunities to improve the
productivity of business processes. We
analyze business processes in your
organization and the IT systems that
support these processes from a
best-practices perspective to identify
gaps between the two. At the end of the
study, we recommend changes to the
business processes, organization
structure and systems that take into
account existing investments, process
priorities and change management
implications.
Approach
TRS utilizes a phased
methodology for Business Process
Rationalization (BPRaz):
Phase I – Set scope, objectives
and priorities
We conduct interviews with the
business and IT teams to understand the
current state of business operations and
sources of pain. Based on the
information collected from the business
and IT teams, we build a business
process cost model and the current state
map (PMO) that addresses gaps across:
- Systems
- Process
- Organization
The important outcome of this phase
is the development of criteria for
prioritization based on potential impact
and cost/time to implement.
Phase II – Develop economics and
end-state process vision
We analyze the process maps by
comparing with best practices to broadly
determine the parameters of process
redesign. By conducting process redesign
workshops with the process stakeholders,
we determine the clean-sheet process
vision. We also capture the current
system total cost of ownership (TCO)
information and determine the system
requirements to support the clean-sheet
process vision.
Phase III - Evaluate alternatives,
finalize vision
Based on the economics and end-state
vision, we roll up and consolidate
tactical change plans incorporating the
“no-regrets” moves to facilitate
business process improvement. The change
plans addresses change across
organization, systems and business
processes. We analyze systems support
requirements for longer term process
changes and identify options for
leveraging existing investments. Based
on the optimal change management plan
for organization, business process and
system, we finalize a vision that can be
implemented with maximum payback.
Phase IV – Implementation roadmap
We develop a long-term technology
roadmap based on process priorities,
spending constraints and organizational
needs. We also identify and document
process change program milestones,
metrics and scorecard that will
continuously evaluate the efficacy of
the rationalization process.
Benefits
